But now we are preparing for ISPO in Munich which is THE tradeshow for Nikita as well as other companies operating within boardsports. A lot of preparation goes on before the booth is ready to be showcased but it is always equally exciting to see the development of the booth being built from scratch. There are wood pieces, paint, boxes, pallets, hangars, screws, racks and everything in between, in a sort of a harmonic mess around the stand, but by Saturday all will be in place and the booth will look amazing! Nikita really has its own thing going on and stands out of the “regular” booth set-ups. We have a metal catwalk that will be the stage for 10 Nikita Chickitas to showcase the highlights of the FW1011 collections and really bring out the great cuts, fits and designs that Nikita is known of.

Yes, so it is the “calm before the storm” vibe – everyone making sure everything is all ready for the big show that kicks off on Sunday. Anticipation is in the air and it is the good kind of anticipation!

What a perfect way to begin my blogging for Experts & Insiders now that I am in Reykjavik/Iceland visiting the Nikita head office and enjoying the perks that come along with it; such as its gorgeous surroundings, thermal spas, pittoresque towns and most fun work mates – ever.

Yes, this ain’t no hollow marketing speech but an honest burst of joy to be able to work with so many amazing, talented and grounded people at Nikita.  Trust me – I have had former work experiences where this has not been the case so I know to appreciate when I have it good!

Which brings me to note how important this is; to have a workplace where you truly feel like a part of a tight knit community and where your personality is an equal asset along with your professional experience. We are the sum of our experiences and this covers a whole lot more than just what you’ve done between 9 to 5! Sadly in bigger corporations this fact seems to be somewhat irrelevant. At Nikita it is mandatory to have a personality with a capital P. And for myself as a fresh Nikita employee that is the biggest compliment I could hope for as in the end, that is what I would like to be perceived as my best quality.

So, this was my little love praise to Nikita: it is good to be part of this family away from home. High Fives to all my sisters from different misters and brothers from different mothers!
